When people are ill or can no longer live together, being together is more important than ever. The Friends of Ravestein Foundation donates a couple’s bed to Ravestein to enable them to experience the moments of contact that are still there.
Now that social distancing has become the norm, a moment of feeling each other’s warmth, holding each other’s hand and forgetting the world for a while is of inestimable value. With a couple bed, a single care bed can easily be expanded into a double bed. This gives a resident the opportunity to experience the closeness of a loved one, son, daughter or family member. This fits in completely with the approach of experience-oriented care at Ravestein, where the resident is central.
Proceeds Funky Weekend
On February 1st, Echica organized a Funky Weekend in collaboration with Arjen de Gram. That evening, Arjen played well-known dance classics in the always cozy bistro & bar in Geldermalsen. The entire proceeds of this successful evening: €1,000,- was donated to the Friends of Ravestein.
With the donation of the couple’s bed and the check, the Friends of Ravestein Foundation, together with Echica and Arjan de Gram, aims to make a positive contribution to the well-being of the residents of Ravestein.
The official presentation of the check for €1,000 and the donation of the couple’s bed took place remotely on Thursday, September 17 at 11:00 am.
