Gerda Maas – van der Heijden from Geldermalsen will be exhibiting colorful paintings from October 11 in the Ravestein care center on the Wieken.
Gerda has been painting since 1995 and started with watercolor. She gets her inspiration from photos taken on her long journeys to mainly Asian countries and from beautiful photos in books and magazines. She takes a chosen photo as a starting point, sometimes changing the composition and colors.
Colors are very important to her.
Lately she has been working with a theme as a starting point. For example, she has made a series of paintings with Japanese Geishas, ’Mother and child’, (sun)flowers, animals, figures and landscapes. These works in particular can be seen during the exhibition.
The exhibition will run until January 6. Opening hours during the entire week are 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00
Art with a smile
With very special paintings, Rob Reis from Rossum will exhibit from July 1st in the care center Ravestein aan de Wieken in Geldermalsen.
Rob Reis is an artist, nature lover and dog man. He is an emotional person and thinks in images. He paints intuitively with bright colors and powerful lines.
His subjects vary, but relate to daily life. Women, dogs and cats are a favourite subject. Rob’s strength is that he knows how to portray a serious subject imaginatively and with a touch of humour. Furthermore, each painting has a message and a catchy title. Drawing and painting are expressions of emotion for Rob and therefore essential for a healthy existence.
A special project is “Rob van de Dag”. Since April 25, 2012, Rob has been making a work of art measuring 10×15 cm every day. He sends this work by post to people who are happy with it! Photos of the works can be seen on the Facebook page of “Rob van de Dag”.
Rob also makes larger work. On wooden discs of oak and beech, nice for in the garden. Or watercolors of 50x70cm. But also a so-called “bar-mail”, a Rob on a beer mat.
Rob Reis often works on commission. He masters all techniques, but watercolor is his favorite.
All in all, Rob is a much sought-after artist. He works with different types of paint, but watercolor is his favorite. His exhibition will last until October 15. The opening hours during the entire week are from 10:00-12:00 and 14:00-17:00
